Navy Blue Snoopy: Flos Reinvents an Icon

Snoopy, the iconic lamp designed by the Castiglioni brothers in 1967 for Flos, has been renewed with the addition of a bright navy blue shade. The other three options are black, green and orange. This new colour recalls the Sciuko lamp, also created by the Castiglioni brothers in 1966.

The Snoopy table lamp stands out for its playful original design, inspired by Charlie Brown's famous dog, created by Charles M. Schulz. Its structure is made up of a cylindrical base in white Carrara marble and an opal glass disc, which diffuses light. A painted aluminium reflector with three cooling holes is positioned in almost unstable equilibrium.

Thanks to perfect weight distribution, Snoopy is stable and directs its light towards the work area, while limiting it on the opposite side. This lighting concept was innovative for its time, and now it’s still fun, irreverent and much appreciated. Flos has always been a guarantee of research and innovation.
