The Archibald chair is a modern reinterpretation of a classic form with its enveloping contours and generous proportions. For Poltrona Frau, Jean-Marie Massaud created the Archibald chair.
The birch plywood frame is surprisingly lightweight in comparison to the firm polyurethane seat. In the earlier version, the upholstery in leather or fabric could be freely chosen and embellished with contrasting stitching. Linear legs made of solid ash wood are drawn with geometric simplicity and minimalism.
The padding made of polyurethane foam and wadding, in addition to the elastic spring system, both ensure a high level of comfort and wellbeing.
The Archibald chair strikes the ideal balance between the discipline of its shape, the simplicity of its lines, and the refined beauty of its fabric and finishing touches.
