The emblematic tubular design typical of many creations from the twentieth century was inspired by the structure of bicycles and entered the furniture world for the first time with the Wassily Chair by the great Bauhaus master Marcel Breuer. The chair attracted Wassily Wassilyevich Kandinsky’s attraction and was named after him. Today it is part of the Knoll catalogue.
Wassily Chair derives its charm from the transparency of its shapes and from the perfect structural coherence of the base-seat-backrest complex. The chair’s appearance is light, elegant and minimalist. Comfort is ensured by characteristic stripes, which are in leather in the original version and in canvas in the Canvas version.
The structure is stainless steel with chrome finish. The Gold version has a precious 18k gold finish.
